The History of TT Lions Den Kennels

Hi to all who is about to read the history/the beginning of the kennel of The True Lions Den! First but not least let me introduce myself!! My name is Christopher Gray, and I am at the time of this letter, the age of 26. I am a Black and white male who grew up on welfare with two brothers and one sister and a single mother trying to raise 4 children by herself! My mother is a Black strong woman who never made a big deal out of life with the cards she was dealt. She grew up more like a country girl then all of the rest of her sisters and brothers. My mom has a big heart for animals and when she was little she would always bring home stray dogs and cats and use to get on her parents nerves all the time with this kind of situation!
My mom taught me how to love on a scale that is all most unmatchable, how to be fair and have balance in life! So let’s start getting down to the nitty gritty, of my story, about how it all started for me and how I found my beloved friends, The American Pit-bull Terrier! When I was little, I always played hard! And when I mean I played hard, I mean I really played hard! I grow up with about 50 Kids and almost all of those kids did not have fathers to raise them just like me. And you can only imagine how busy and how mobile we all were, all together!
Well anyway with my crazy upbringing and wild atmosphere. I still had lots of time raising all types of animals! Man I raised fishes, turtles, lizards, birds, mouse’s, hamsters, genie pigs, cats, dogs and in my older years snake’s too! Man I kept my mom’s house busy with animals! I would find stray animal and bring them home repeating my mom’s childhood habits. One day my twin brother, cousin and childhood friend bought three Pups from a litter a guy had and at the time I thought that they were cute, but did not really care to much for them, because I was in to Doberman pinchers for a little while.
I really like Pinchers and I liked how everybody was scared of them and they were known to be guard dogs. I was definitely into the breed in till my brother, cousin and my friend’s three pups started to get bigger and more playful. I would always watch them play and I would think to myself how manly man this breed was and then how skinny the Pinchers was to this new breed I have discovered. I would often think thoughts like “Man if only the pincher had more weight like this breed it would be in my eyes the ultimate manly man dog.

So I set out to find a dog with more weight like the three pups. So I found quickly a breed that looked like the Doberman pincher, it was the American Rottweiler and at that time I thought I found the best breed of the manly man dogs! And I never bought a dog at this time yet, because I was holding out to keep my options open! Well within this time, I was still watching the three puppies play for months and little by little these three pups grabbed my heart! I could not stop thinking about how muscular these pups were and how big there heads were and how much pain they could take and still really did care.
I mean these pups would play all the time and all day long. Almost all the time the pups world get in to fights with each other and it would be hard to get them off one other, because of their lock jaw. Man we would try to get them off each other; it was very hard to do so! We found out the hard way what this breed could do and just like little kids with no fathers who did a lot of bad things because of their surroundings, we slipped in to dog fighting and watched dog fighting on tape a lot!
We soon then discovered that the breed of dog we had was called Game-Bred! That means every dog in a dog’s bloodline was a trained fighting dog and was more prone to be aggressive because of the bloodline! I thought that this life of dog fighting was so cool until I discovered dogs being killed by other dogs in these fights and at this time I did not understand why somebody would allow their dog to be killed by another dog and it just hit one day, the answers I been think was sample, those people did not care for the breed. They were using the dog only for profit!
The dog was nothing more than a product that was invested into to make more gains for the own. I mean when me and my friends would fight our dogs, it was only to brag or have fun to see whose dog was more tuff, but we would never gamble for money and we would not let the dogs fight each other for a long time or to the death of a dog! You see, the dog fighting world was killing dogs for the hope of gains, “

The love of money is the root of all evil” and this biblical scripture came to life within the dog fighting world for sure! Well little did I know it, but fighting dogs I would soon be against. I started seeing more dog attacks from my breed on TV and news papers, it then started to get very serious. People was getting killed by my breed and more and more dog fights were killing dogs and I started to become angry on how many different stories about my breed and how people hated this breed of dogs.
I mean listen, yes I fought dogs in the early years of my life, and I was very young and ignorant and was too stupid to see what I was doing to my breed. At that time of my life I was helping destroy a breed I claim to love and I did not fully understand my actions or what the big picture of what I was helping the breed’s image to become! Now grant it, before I ever discovered the breed, there was a long history of dog fighting, thousands of years before I learned dog fighting!
I am not claiming I started dog fighting, I am saying that when I fought dogs when I was younger, it wasn’t that so evil, well at least from where I am from! But this is the point, we were a part of the image of the dog fighting world and were helping promote the game bred bloodline and by doing so the end result of the breed today is public enemy number one.

So with that said I give up the image of dog fighting and started a new lease on life! I started to control my dogs to make sure that they would not fight each other. And I started reading more on the subject of aggressive dogs and how dogs are governed in their minds! I discovered that dogs are controlled with a wolf pack instinct and the only way to control my dogs is by de-ranking all of my dogs to a service dog mind rather than an Alfa male dog mind set! And yes I de-ranked all of my dogs and they all known that I become the Alfa male!
So from that day I became that boss of my yard and until this day the rule of the yard is controlled by my hand! I have never had a problem with none of my dogs and no they don’t fight each other. You see, ever since I changed my ways and discovered what this breed is really about and how good the breed really is! It now makes me feel bad of how I use to fight them and that is some of the reason of why I have a Dog Kennel today, to try and give back to my beloved friends and to help produce a new generation of my breed to show the world how loving they really, then what you see on TV or read in the news paper.
You see, this breed is good and it is the people who are making these dogs do evil things and if a reasonable owner took the time to understand the breed, then he or she would have the power to control the aggressive nature of the breed! So now for years I have raised the breed I love and have controlled all of my dogs aggressive natural and I have been very successful for 14 years. You see, when I was younger I helped promote an evil breed. And Now I spend all of my time promoting a very good breed of dogs! And I will continue to do so as long as I can! Thank You to all who has read the History of TT Lions Den Kennels where The Home of Pit Bull terrier is a hero not a evil fighting dog!

My Wife telling Her Side of the Story,
Hi, my name is Amy! I am Chris's wife, we have been together for the past 10yrs and from the beginning of our relationship he has always owned a pit bull. I really didn't know too much about the breed, all I knew is that they were some beautiful dogs. I can't count how many times I've gotten stared at in the past for owning a Pit Bull.
Several people, who know nothing about the breed automatically, judge the dog by what the media says. In the past 4 years we decided to purchase our first UKC resisted American Pit Bull. And from there it's been all over with and since then we haven't stopped. We continue to grow and keep adding more dogs to our yard. I work for a commercial appraisal company and when I tell my co-workers that I own American Pit Bulls and that we are an upcoming small kennel.
I always get that, oh so are you like "Michael Vick" and I quickly put them in check. I let them know that we breed our dogs for good temperament and body structure, not for game. All of our dogs are so wonderful with our children.
We take our dogs around so many strangers and all kinds of pets, that the people who are quick to judge the American Pit Bull Terrier, can't believe what they are seeing with their own two eyes. So many people think that these dogs are very aggressive and not people or pet friendly, but their wrong!
Wow, if I had a dollar for every negative remark? I would have enough money to pay to have these BSL laws destroyed. We are giving back to the breed and are promoting the breed with positive energy. We need more people like us to fight for this breed. In the past I have owned a Rottweiler, some mix breeds and a pure breed chow, none of these dogs compare to our American Bullies.
All of our American Bully’s are Highly Quality Bred with good temperament. If you have any doubts about owning an American Bully, then please don't buy a dog that you are not comfortable with. The breed is only aggressive, by the person who trains them to be.
If you were brought up in an environment that was always negative you would grow up treating other people the way you were raised. That goes the same for any dog! If you raise them properly and in a positive environment, you will get a positive outcome. I want to thank our visitors for stopping by and checking out, Our Bully Kennel.
